1966 Mustang GT Fastback 2+2 |
|
 |
This 1966 Mustang GT Fastback 2+2, includes many GT options including Dual Trumpet Exhaust , and Rally Pac. It's also equipped with an Automatic Transmission, Power Steering and Willwood stainless steel, power, four wheel Disc Brakes and Hooker Headers. The 289 High Performance engine with 4 bbl Holley carb includes a Vintage Paxton Supercharger, that makes the car Unique and Superfast! The Paxton gives torque as soon as you hit the gas, and increases the horsepower by 40%. I think I had this in mind when picking the Licence plate "Superstang" . This car is super fun to drive!
Another thing that is special to me and originally attracted me to the car when I bought it was the color. Tahoe turquoise is the original color of the car with Aqua interior and seems to be a hit with enthusiasts. This car was born June 27th, 1966 at the River Rouge Plant in Dearborn, Michigan and the original trim tag is still present. Since the car was purchased, it needed a little TLC so repairs were done a little at a time and finally a Rotisserie Restoration was performed to bring it to " as new" condition. The 1966 Mustang GT has a serious racing look to it , and has always been associated with Power and Performance.
One of my favorite features of any Mustang is the lines of the car, and even when new they had certain small flaws about the lines which gives each one its own character. The 1966 Fastback also includes the distinctive ventilation louvers which to this day are not reproduced. I also think that 1966 was a special year for the Mustang as it was the last year of Fords production of the Fastback.
I think this award-winning classic is a head turner wherever it goes and to me is the King of the Herd!
