Memramcook Show-N-Shine (
Aug. 6, 2006 )
Sunshine greeted
everyone at the 9th annual "MEMRAMCOOK
SHOW-N-SHINE" which was held on Sunday,
August 6th , 2006 on the beautifully manicured
grounds of the Memramcook Learning and Vacation
Resort located in the village of Memramcook,
New Brunswick. The show is organized by the
Memramcook Valley Cruizers, a local area club.
The early arrivals
had the option of parking either in the shade
of the large stately trees
or just stay in the open areas. Vehicles
from all parts of the Maritime Provinces, (street
rods, antique, custom and classic cars and
trucks, antique snowmobiles, antique tractors)
continued to enter the grounds all day and
ended the registrations at 311 vehicles.
There
were lots of prizes, participant give-aways,
food and drinks, excellent oldies music,
various
activities, such as the children’s
coloring contest, but mostly lots of genuine
hobbyists
with exceptional vehicles.
There was no
cost for registration, but donations were welcome.
During the
day, different sales of chances were held,
and all revenues went towards
the Melissa Foundation, which is a local
registered
charitable organization which financially
helps families who need to travel outside
our area
for medical treatments.
Last year,
the show raised $8256.00 for the foundation,
thanks to everyone’s generosity. They
hope to be able to duplicate this fine gesture
this
year.
Anyone making
plans in advance should mark their calendar
for August 5, 2007 for the "10th
Annual Memramcook Show-N-Shine" to be
held again at the Memramcook Learning and Vacation
Resort stately grounds.
See you there.
