Performance
World ( Mar. 9-11,
2007 )
Right
off the bat I have to say this
was the best Performance World
to date. The number of high quality
cars on display made the show
worth the price of admission
($18). Gary Challice and everyone
involved with the show should
be proud.
This was the 18th annual "Performance
World" custom car show at the international
centre located in Toronto. The
title sponsor again for 2007 was
"Concepts on Wheels".
The 2007 show had many great features
and famous people. Some of these
included Funkmaster Flex, Herb
Martinez, Mackenzie Phillips, Candy
Clark & Bo Hopkins from American
Graffiti. Special showcases included
"Deuces Wild", a display commemorating
the 75th anniversary of the 1932
Ford.
As you will be able to see from
the pictures from the show, there
was a huge number of participants
(Maybe 500). The show also included
a wide selection vendors from part
suppliers & body
shops to clubs, race tracks, and
more. We tended to stay away from
the Funkmaster Flex area (Tuner
Cars) and focused mainly on the
classic cars and hotrods. HotRodding.ca
once again awarded one participant
with the "Up & Comer" award. This
award is handed out to a participant
who is under the age of 25. Unfortunately
we forgot to write the name of
the winner down and submitted our
paper to the show. We continue
trying to contact Performance World
but to date have not heard back.
When we finally receive the proper
name and official show numbers
will will update this page and
notify our members.
So at the ned of the day, the show
was great and we can now get ready
for summer and all the shows and
events that 2007 has to offer.
We will be back again at Performance
World in 2008!
