Speedorama Toronto
( Jan. 26-28, 2007 )
Another year
and another Speedorama. The show was pretty
much the same as 2006 but with out the hype
about being back at the Automotive Building.
The price went up from $18 to $20 but you could
get a $5 off coupon in the paper. I think the
price is a little steep, but I know what it
is like running a show and sometimes show costs
choose these things for you. I believe children
under 12 were FREE.
It was great
to see that for the second year the show was
based on true hotrods and classic cars. I don't
think I saw a single tuner car anywhere. There
were a lot of nice cars but when it came to
major draw cars with huge displays, the pool
was a little shallow. There was a large booth
in the centre of the show with demos from Lincoln
Electric and we saw Chip Foose signing Autographs.
Overall it was
a great show, it really helps break up the
winter and the show continues to be on the
right track. The Speedorama website was offline
and we had some trouble getting some additional
information about the show but it all worked
out in the end. We assume that 2008 will be
pretty much the same. Here are a few pictures
from the show, take a look and feel free to
discuss the show or any of these cars in the
shop talk area. Enjoy!
